HKI Emphasizes that the Malalak Road in Agam West Sumatra has not been opened to the public after the disaster.

AGAM - PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) menegaskan Jalan Malalak di Kabupaten Agam, Sumatera Barat (Sumbar), belum dibuka untuk umum meskipun sudah bisa dilintasi kendaraan roda dua pascabencana banjir bandang.

"For the whole, for now Jalan Malalak can be crossed but not for the public first," said HKI Subiantoro Field Manager in Agam Regency, Antara, Sunday, February 22.

However, Subiantoro said that for the people of Malalak who want to go to Balingka or vice versa, they can cross the road by using a motorcycle. One of the considerations of the HKI is to allow people in the two areas to cross it due to distance factors.

The road can only be crossed when workers are resting, namely from 12.00 WIB to 13.00 WIB, or after heavy equipment is no longer operating, namely from 17.00 WIB until before 08.00 WIB.

"We recommend that the Malalak people and the Balingka people first. If it is for the public outside, it is still not recommended," he said.

On that occasion, he emphasized that the closure of roads in the Anai Valley area, Tanah Datar Regency, starting at 08.00 WIB until 17.00 WIB because it was still in the post-disaster recovery phase, could not be an excuse for road users to switch through Malalak.

"So, if there are people who avoid closing Jalan Lembah Anai and then want to cross Jalan Malalak, it is absolutely not allowed," said Subiantoro.

To accelerate the construction of Malalak Road, HKI deployed seven units of PC 200 excavators, one PC 300 excavator and several other types of heavy equipment. In addition to kilometer 82, HKI also carried out a number of works and improvements at several other points that had experienced subsequent landslides.
