Razia Serentak, Satpol PP Sita Hundreds of Unlicensed Miras Bottles in North Jakarta

JAKARTA - Hundreds of bottles of unlicensed alcoholic beverages sold in three shops in the Cilincing area, North Jakarta, were seized by officers from the North Jakarta City Satpol PP.

Hundreds of bottles of alcoholic beverages of various types were then collected at the Satpol PP warehouse in each sub-district. A total of 180 bottles of alcoholic beverages were seized as evidence.

"The inheritance was confiscated because it did not have a permit," said North Jakarta Head of Public Order and Safety, Budhy Novian, when confirmed by VOI, Sunday, February 22.

The seizure of alcoholic beverages was carried out by Satpol PP officers during a routine raid during Ramadan.

"This raid will be carried out regularly during the month of Ramadan," he said.

In addition to the Cilincing area, raids on alcoholic beverages were also carried out in the Penjaringan area, North Jakarta.

"We conducted a search of a number of liquor stores and herbal shops in each of the Penjaringan Districts and we confiscated 132 bottles of liquor," he added.

According to him, the liquor brought by the officers from the warung that sold the illegal goods was 48 bottles of Rajawali, 24 bottles of Arak, 8 bottles of Kuda Mas, two bottles of Intisari, 17 bottles of Ginseng Wine.

Then nine bottles of AO, 12 bottles of Green Wine, and 12 bottles of King Lion.

"The total number of bottles of liquor seized from the Penjaringan area is 132 bottles," he said.

He said that this raid on illegal alcoholic beverages was in order to increase supervision during Ramadan, as well as enforce Regional Regulation number 8 of 2007 concerning public order.

He said that in addition to enforcing local regulations, this activity is also in order to anticipate fights and other social insecurity which are often triggered by alcoholic beverages.

This liquor supervision will continue to be carried out by Satpol PP and the implementation will start from the level of the village, district to the city throughout the month of Ramadan.

"Ramadan is indeed a momentum for this alcohol supervision to be carried out optimally so that the atmosphere becomes safer and more comfortable," he said.

In addition, Budhy also appealed to the public in the North Jakarta area to jointly maintain the suitability of the area by conducting siskamling.

"Siskamling to help maintain a comfortable atmosphere for Muslim brothers who carry out fasting. The public is also prohibited from participating in sahur on the road (SOTR) and lighting firecrackers," he added.
