JAKARTA - Doctor Richard Lee has fulfilled the call of the Metro Jaya Police regarding the case of alleged consumer protection violations of beauty products and treatments that ensnared him as a suspect.
Richard came to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation Building of the Metro Jaya Police on Thursday morning and stated that he was ready to undergo a follow-up examination cooperatively.
"Today, with cooperation, I came to fulfill my obligations as a good citizen. I am ready to provide the clearest and most honest information regarding the products I sell," said Richard, quoted from Antara, Thursday, February 19 before entering the examination room.
All beauty products that are marketed have official permits and are tested by the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency, and are produced in accordance with applicable regulations.
"I have never sold products that are not licensed or have the potential to harm the community," he said.
Richard also admitted that he was sad because the legal case involved two doctors who both worked in the field of skin care, including Dr. Amira Farahnaz who is known as Dr. Samira or the detective doctor.
"What makes me sad, this conflict involves two colleagues, both doctors and professionals in the field of skincare, but ends up reporting each other and both become suspects," he said.
He said the situation was a moral burden in itself. "I am sad and ashamed of this," said Richard.
Previously, the Polda Metro Jaya summoned Richard Lee for further examination after his pretrial lawsuit was rejected by the South Jakarta District Court.
Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, said that the summons had been sent and received by the suspect's legal representative.
"Investigators have sent a summons letter and it has been confirmed by the lawyer. The next examination of the suspect's brother DRL is scheduled for Thursday," he said.
The South Jakarta District Court panel previously rejected the pretrial application filed by Richard Lee regarding his designation as a suspect in the case of alleged violations of consumer protection of beauty products and treatments.
