BOGOR - The Bogor City Government has set a number of provisions during Ramadan 1447 Hijriah to maintain public order and community peace. The rules are contained in the Mayor's Decree (SK) issued after the results of the Isbat Meeting of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia determined that 1 Ramadan fell on February 19, 2026.
Bogor Mayor Dedie A. Rachim emphasized that this arrangement aims to create a safe and conducive Ramadan atmosphere.
"There are several things related to public order and community safety during the month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah. Public order includes the movement of the community during the implementation of a series of daily activities in the fasting month," said Dedie when leading a coordination meeting at the Bogor City Hall.
He explained that the working hours of the state civil apparatus in the Bogor City Government environment during Ramadan had been adjusted. "For Monday to Thursday, working hours start at 08.00 to 15.00 WIB, with a break at 12.00 to 12.30 WIB. Meanwhile, on Friday, working hours are 08.00 to 15.30 WIB with a break at 11.30 to 12.30 WIB," he explained.
In addition, a number of businesses are required to close during Ramadan, including nightclubs, discos, steam baths or spas, massage parlors, manual and electronic agility game arenas, bars, karaoke, and supporting businesses in entertainment areas. The city government also prohibits the use of firecrackers and sahur on the road (SOTR) activities.
"We want the atmosphere of Ramadan to remain devout. Activities that have the potential to cause disturbances to order must certainly be limited," said Dedie.
