ACEH - Survivors of hydrometeorological disasters in Aceh Tamiang Regency admitted that they financed the cleaning of houses from debris from flash floods in the form of mud up to Rp6 million.

"I financed it myself by hiring others to clean the house from the flood mud," said Fauziah, a survivor of a hydrometeorological disaster in Aceh Tamiang Regency who was contacted from Banda Aceh, Antara, Monday, February 16.

He admitted that he used his own money up to Rp. 6 million for workers' wages. Because to clean the house from the mud, he and his family were unable to because the mud covered all parts of the house.

The middle-aged woman explained that her house, which was buried in the mud of the late November 2025 hydrometeorological disaster, was in Durian Village, Rantau District, Aceh Tamiang Regency.

"Our house was flooded and the roof was no longer visible during the flood. When the flood was over, there was mud in the house with a height of more than two meters. The ceiling in the entire house was damaged," said Fauziah.

Regarding the stimulus aid for damaged houses affected by hydrometeorological disasters, Fauziah admitted that he had not received it. He also did not know whether he was registered as a recipient or not.

"Currently, my family is living in a relative's house. We haven't been able to return because besides being in the house, it is still covered in mud, the road to the house is still muddy," he said.

Fauziah hopes that the government will help clean up the mud in the residential area so that the community can immediately return to their original place. Government support is needed because people affected by hydrometeorological disasters no longer have anything.

"We just hope to be able to go home soon, just like the desire of other people affected by other disasters in this area. Moreover, ahead of the holy month of Ramadan and hope to carry out fasting at home," he said.
