JAKARTA - The Attorney General's Office stated that the investigation into the case of the management of oil palm plantations and industries at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) period 2015-2024, which dragged the name of former Minister of Environment and Forestry Siti Nurbaya Bakar, is still ongoing. Investigators have examined more than 20 witnesses in the case.
Head of the Attorney General's Office for Corruption Prevention and Eradication, Anang Supriatna, said the witnesses examined were from the bureaucracy and private parties.
"The information is more than 20 witnesses. From the bureaucracy there are, from the private sector there are also," he told the media at the Indonesian Attorney General's Office, South Jakarta, Thursday, February 12, 2026.
So far, said Anang, investigators have also conducted searches and seized a number of documents and electronic evidence. However, Anang has not detailed the amount of cash or valuables seized.
"What is clear is that there is documentation that has been taken, including electronic evidence," he said.
Regarding the schedule for the examination of Siti Nurbaya, Anang said he had not received any definite information.
"I haven't received information about when the examination is scheduled. However, the team continues to investigate, not only focusing on the person concerned, but also other parties who are considered to know or be involved," he concluded.
The Director of Investigation of the Attorney General's Office for Islamic Affairs, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, previously said that his party had searched the house of the former Minister of Environment and Forestry (LHK) Siti Nurbaya Bakar.
The search was related to the case of the management of oil palm plantations and industries at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) for the period 2015-2024.
"So, first, I confirm that there was indeed a search some time ago. It was carried out in several places. Maybe one of them was in the house mentioned earlier," said Syarief.
According to him, the search was not related to the mining governance case.
"That is the investigation of the management of the plantation and palm oil industry," he added.
