Golkar Secretary General: Bahlil will choose a candidate from Papua constituency in the 2029 election

JAKARTA - Golkar Party Secretary General Muhammad Sarmuji, revealed that Golkar Party Chairman, Bahlil Lahadalia, wants to run for a legislative member in the 2029 General Election (Pemilu).

This was conveyed by Sarmuji when responding to the issue of Prabowo Subianto's running mate if he wants to run for president in the 2029 presidential election.

Sarmuji emphasized that currently Golkar is trying hard to make Prabowo loved by the Indonesian people by successfully implementing all of its programs. If Prabowo wants two periods, then Golkar is ready to support.

"If for, is there anyone from Golkar who wants to be encouraged? Yes, our general chairman wants to run, he has declared that he will be a candidate for 2029," said Sarmuji at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 12.

The chairman of the Golkar faction of the DPR even said Bahlil had determined the electoral district (dapil), namely the Papua Dapil.

"Pak Bahlil has chosen the dapil. Dapil Papua. Because Pak Bahlil was raised in Papua, yes. If he was born in Banda, but he was raised, he grew up in Papua," said Sarmuji.
