Ojol Celaka on Grogol Flyover, Bina Marga Says Road Hole Has Been Handled

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Office (DBM) stated that it had followed up on the pothole on the Grogol Flyover, West Jakarta, which had previously caused a single accident for an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver.

Head of the Data and Information Center of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Office, Siti Dinarwenny, said the repair was carried out shortly after the incident.

"As a form of responsibility and follow-up in the field, DBM has handled the pothole at the location of the incident on Tuesday night, February 10, 2026," Wenny told reporters, Thursday, February 12.

Before the patching was carried out, field officers known as the yellow force had first given a sign at the points of the potholes on the flyover. The marking was carried out as an initial step in handling and to remind road users.

"Previously, the yellow forces had marked (marking) the potholes on the Grogol Flyover as an initial step in handling and to increase the vigilance of road users," said Wenny.

Wenny explained that the repairs were carried out at night by taking into account safety factors and the smooth flow of traffic on the road, which is known to be crowded with vehicles.

"The DKI Jakarta Provincial Road Construction Service continues to carry out regular monitoring and maintenance of roads. We will continue to carry out quick and emergency handling, including in the midst of the rainy season, as an effort to maintain the safety of all road users," he said.

Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung spoke out about the accident suffered by an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver on the Grogol Flyover, West Jakarta, after hitting a pothole.

Pramono apologized for the incident. He emphasized that there was no element of negligence from the local government regarding the damaged road conditions.

"If there is an event like what happened in Grogol, yes it is an event that the Jakarta Government certainly apologizes for and has no desire at all to let it happen," said Pramono.

He also asked the public to be more careful when driving, especially at points where roads are potentially damaged. Regarding the victim's condition, Pramono admitted that he had not received a detailed report.

For information, an ojol driver had a serious accident on the Grogol Flyover, Jalan Letjen S. Parman, Grogol, Peramburan, West Jakarta after his motorcycle hit the pothole on Monday, February 9.

According to eyewitnesses, the large and deep hole in the location is difficult to see, especially at night or during rain, thus endangering motorists who pass by.

After hitting the hole, the victim fell and lost consciousness, suffering serious head injuries. Health officials from DKI Jakarta who arrived at the scene immediately provided first aid.

Then, the victim was evacuated using an ambulance and taken to Sumber Waras Hospital for intensive care.
