Disband Tawuran, Police in Manado Even Hit by Motorcycle

MANADO - The head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Manado Police, AKP Elwin Kristanto, was a victim of a hit-and-run accident while leading a joint personnel to disperse a riot in Ketang Baru Village, Singkil District, Manado City, North Sulawesi.

"This incident is a serious concern for the North Sulawesi Police and will take firm action against the perpetrators," said Head of Public Relations of the North Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol Alamsyah Hasibuan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 11.

The Public Relations Chief emphasized that attacks on Law Enforcement Agencies (APH) were serious threats that would not be tolerated.

"This incident is a serious concern because it endangers the safety of the police and the community. We will take firm action against the perpetrators in accordance with applicable laws," said Hasibuan.

The incident occurred on Sunday, February 8 afternoon while temporarily calming down the situation of fighting, suddenly a motorcycle sped up and hit AKP Elwin Kristanto.

Instead of stopping, the perpetrator immediately stepped on the gas to escape from the pursuit of the officers, fortunately, AKP Elwin was in good condition even though he had been hit by a vehicle.

In the commotion, the police managed to arrest three young men suspected of being involved in the commotion, namely DP (24) who was caught carrying a white iron knife, VK (29) carrying a launcher and a ready-to-use arrow, and ET (26) who was also secured with his two colleagues.

The three of them and the evidence have now been taken to the Manado Police Headquarters for an intensive examination.
