Paspampres ensures that the soldier who abused Ojol is not a member of them

JAKARTA - The Presidential Security Force (Paspampres) confirmed that no members were involved or perpetrators in the persecution of online motorcycle taxi (ojol) drivers in the Kembangan area, West Jakarta, which is currently being handled by the Kembangan Police.

Assistant Intelligence Commander of the Presidential Security Force (Asintel Danpaspampres) Colonel Inf. Mulyo Junaidi, explained that Paspampres had investigated information about the persecution that went viral on social media, and confirmed that the TNI soldier who was suspected of being the perpetrator was not a member of Paspampres.

"I checked earlier, it turns out that the person concerned is not a member of Paspampres," said Paspampres Mulyo, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 10.

Therefore, the Danpaspampres Intelligence Service also handed over the case entirely to the TNI Headquarters, especially regarding the legal process that will be carried out by the soldier.

"We have clarified, Captain Cpm A (the alleged perpetrator), member of the Denma Mabes (TNI)," said Mulyo.

On a separate occasion, the Head of Public Relations (Head of Public Relations) of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol. Budi Hermanto, said that the case is currently being investigated by the Kembangan Police.

"Yes, the Kembangan Police have received a report of alleged abuse or beating of online taxi drivers in the Kembangan area, West Jakarta," said Kombes Budi to reporters in Jakarta, Monday (9/2).

He then explained that the case was reported by the victim to the police on Thursday (5/2) last week. Budi said that the handling of the case was still ongoing.

The incident of persecution against the ojol driver went viral on social media through uploads that showed photos of evidence of persecution, police reports, and proof of booking from online taxi applications.

In the upload, there is also a chronology of events that states that the incident occurred on Wednesday (4/2) at 20.15 WIB.

The persecution began when the victim received an order from a passenger with the initials N.

The passenger asked to be taken to Jalan Haji Lebar in the Srengseng area, Kembangan, West Jakarta.

Upon arrival at the destination point, N admitted that he did not know the way to the exact location where he wanted to go, because he admitted that he was asked to come to the house of the suspected perpetrator, who was a TNI soldier with the rank of captain.

The victim then asked N to contact the perpetrator, but the perpetrator cursed N. Then, the victim still took N to the perpetrator's house.

Upon arrival at the destination, a quarrel occurred and the ojol driver was abused until he was injured. The victim also reported the violence he experienced to the Kembangan Police, and the case was recorded in the report letter number LP/B/080/II/2026/Polsek Kembangan/Polsek Metro Jakarta Barat/Polda Metro Jaya.
