The Palace Responds to the Public Satisfaction Survey to Prabowo 79.9 Percent

JAKARTA - The Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi, who is also the Spokesperson for the President of the Republic of Indonesia, responded to the results of the Indonesian Political Indicator survey which showed that the public satisfaction level with President Prabowo Subianto's performance reached 79.9 percent.

Prasetyo stated that the results of the survey were not the goal of the government's work, because the government focused on implementing and accelerating the implementation of its priority programs, for example, renovating 300,000 schools in various parts of the country.

"Every survey result, for us, is not what we are pursuing, not the survey results. What we are pursuing is accelerating programs that we believe can reduce the burdens and problems in society," said Prasetyo Hadi when answering a journalist's question when he was met at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Monday, February 9.

Pras, a nickname for Prasetyo, continued that the main focus of the government at this time is to eradicate poverty and improve the quality of education.

"Our enemy today is (poverty). So, we want to work as hard as possible to achieve it. If later it is accepted by the public in the form of poll results, we will hand it over to the public, but we are not pursuing it, because in fact there are still many things we are not satisfied with the programs we want to be felt quickly by the entire community, quickly reduce the difficulties of the community, and that is not all, it still takes time," said Presidential Spokesperson Prasetyo Hadi.

On a separate occasion, the Indonesian Political Indicator released its latest survey results regarding the performance of the government and a number of state institutions. For the results of the survey related to public satisfaction with President Prabowo's performance, the majority of respondents, namely 79.9 percent of the total 1,220 respondents, were satisfied with the President's performance.

Of that figure, 13 percent of them stated "very satisfied", and 66.9 percent of respondents stated "satisfied"

Founder and Principal Researcher of Indonesian Political Indicators Burhanuddin Muhtadi then explained that President Prabowo's approval rating was quite high, especially when compared to the results of similar surveys for President Ke-6 Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the beginning of his administration in 2004, and President Ke-7 Joko Widodo in 2014 after winning the presidential election.
