Bima Narcotics Officer Fired for Disrespecting Drug Sales

MATARAM - The West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police (NTB) has imposed a Dismissal Without Honor or dismissal sanction against the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Bima City Police, AKP Malaungi, for involvement in the circulation of methamphetamine.

Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Kombes Mohammad Kholid, explained that the application of the sanction was based on the decision of the Police Ethics Court which took place today at the NTB Police Headquarters.

"So, today, this afternoon, the person concerned (AKP Malaungi) has been tried for code of ethics and at the PTDH," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 9.

The police ethics trial was held based on the results of the investigation by the Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the NTB Police who named AKP Malaungi as a suspect in the case of the circulation of methamphetamine.

Investigators at the NTB Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate have named AKP Malaungi as a suspect by applying Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics jo. Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code jo. Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustment, or Article 609 paragraph (2) letter a of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code jo. Law Number 1 of 2026 concerning Criminal Adjustment.

From the series of investigations, AKP Malaungi seized 488 grams of pure methamphetamine. The evidence was secured from the search of AKP Malaungi's official residence in the Bima City Police Dormitory complex.

The existence of the evidence was a follow-up to the confession of AKP Malaungi after undergoing a urine test with a positive result for amphetamine, the content of ecstasy and MDMA and methamphetamine, which is the content of crystal meth.

Kholid explained the role of AKP Malaungi, which was first revealed from the results of the examination of Bripka Karol who was caught with his wife and two colleagues with evidence of dozens of grams of marijuana and cash of tens of millions allegedly from the transaction.

For the imposition of PTDH sanctions in the suspect status in the drug trafficking case, the NTB Police detained AKP Malaungi in the special placement room of the NTB Police Propam Field.

"The person concerned is now in custody," he said.
