"After arriving at the location at around 02.25 WIT, the team immediately made preparations for the evacuation of the victim," he said.
The evacuation process went smoothly by prioritizing safety aspects. At around 04.40 WIT, the Joint SAR Team and the victim arrived safely at Nusantara Village. Subsequently, the victim was handed over to the family.
Arafah added that before the incident, the victim was known to have climbed Mount Banda with a number of his colleagues on Friday, February 7 at around 15.02 WIT with plans to set up a tent and spend the night on the mountain peak.
However, after arriving at the peak and waiting for one of the companions who was carrying a tent to come, the group decided to cancel the camping plan and choose to go down again.
While descending the mountain slope, the victim suffered an injury to his leg so that he was unable to continue the journey.
