Prabowo hopes Ramadan 2026 will be calm and sufficient for all families

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto expressed the hope that Muslims in Indonesia could carry out Ramadan in a calm, cool, and sufficient atmosphere for every family.

This was conveyed by President Prabowo in his remarks at the Mujahadah Kubro event in commemoration of the One Hundredth Anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) which was held at the Gajayana Stadium, Malang, East Java, Sunday, February 8.

"I congratulate all Muslims who will soon be carrying out the holy month of Ramadan. God willing, this holy month we will pass in a calm, cool, and with adequate conditions for all families," said the President as quoted by Antara.

On that occasion, the President emphasized that the government he led placed the interests of the people as the main priority above other interests.

The President invited all elements of the nation to unite in prayer and effort so that Indonesia is always under the protection of God Almighty and is kept away from division, disaster, and various efforts that can cause unrest and turmoil in the community.

"Let us always unite in prayer and effort so that the Indonesian nation will always be under the protection of Allah SWT so that the Indonesian nation will be kept away from division, disaster from all efforts to cause confusion or turmoil among the community," he said.

President Prabowo also invited the public to maintain unity and work together so that the holy month of Ramadan brings tranquility, prosperity, peace, and strengthens national unity.

At the end of his speech, the President congratulated the one hundredth anniversary of Nahdlatul Ulama as a religious organization that has an important role in the journey of the Indonesian nation.

"Thank you Nahdlatul ulama who have always faithfully guarded the dignity of the Indonesian nation," said President Prabowo.

The Mujahadah Kubro which took place on February 7-8, 2026, is the culmination of a series of NU Centennial Harlah commemorations organized by the East Java PWNU.

The event is estimated to be attended by around 105 thousand people, consisting of 77,541 people from the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch (PCNU) throughout East Java and around 27,000 NU Muslimat residents. The congregation used 1,183 buses, 6,465 cars and 5,413 motorcycles.

The activity was attended by members of the Red and White Cabinet, charismatic ulama and kiai, NU Central Board, NU East Java Regional Board, and tens of thousands of Nahdliyin residents from various regions.
