220 Napi 'High Risk' Cipinang Prison Moved to Nusakambangan Prison 

A total of 220 inmates of Cipinang Class 1 Prison were transferred to Nusakambangan Regional Prison to create a conducive atmosphere.

JAKARTA - A total of 220 inmates at Cipinang Class 1 Prison were transferred to Nusakambangan Regional Prison to create a conducive atmosphere.

The transfer process was carried out with tight security, involving joint security officers from the Directorate General of Corrections, regional offices, East Jakarta Metro Police, and Prison and Detention Center Officers throughout DKI Jakarta.

"This transfer shows the readiness and professionalism of the ranks of Cipinang Prison. This step is important to maintain security stability and ensure that the training runs more optimally in each UPT," said Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Prisons for Special Jakarta, Heri Azhari, when confirmed, Saturday, February 7.

The transfer of inmates is part of the actual work of the correctional system in supporting the 15 Action Programs of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto, especially in addressing the problems of overcapacity and overcrowding as well as in the eradication of drugs in prisons and detention centers through planned and comprehensive solutions.

With this step, it is hoped that a more conducive prison environment will be created and the process of educating inmates can run more effectively and sustainably.

A total of 220 inmates of Cipinang Class 1 Prison were transferred to Nusakambangan Regional Prison to create a conducive atmosphere.

Meanwhile, the Head of Cipinang Class I Prison, Wachid Wibowo, said the transfer of inmates was a strategic step in supporting the correctional system.

"The transfer of inmates to Nusakambangan is carried out to support the optimization of training, control of residential capacity, and strengthening of security aspects," he said.

Wachid ensured that all processes were carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures with the principles of caution and accountability.

Meanwhile, the Head of Security at Cipinang Prison, Sumaryo, said that security readiness was the main priority in carrying out the activity.

"Our escort and security are prepared in layers from the preparation stage until the prisoners arrive at their destination," he said.
