Two Elementary School Students Found Dead in the Lake Behind the STTAL TNI AL Complex Kodamar

Two students with initials R (12) and IAA alias B (11) residents of the TNI AL Kodamar Complex, were found dead in a lake behind STTAL, TNI AL Kodamar Complex, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Friday, February 6, 2026.

Both victims are suspected of drowning in the lake.

The victim with the initials R is known to be a student in grade 6 of SDN 01 Kelapa Gading Barat. Meanwhile, the victim with the initials IAA alias B is a student in grade 4 of SDN 01 Kelapa Gading Barat.

The incident began when the two IAA victims alias B and R along with two other colleagues with the initials P and T departed for the reservoir or lake behind the STTAL TNI AL Complex with the aim of swimming.

They waited for the victim, initials B, who was carrying out a class cleaning picket at SDN 01 Kelapa Gading Barat for about 10 minutes. Upon arrival at the location, the four children sat down and then swam on the edge of the reservoir.

"Witness initials P and T were temporarily drowned, but P was saved by victim R. Meanwhile, T (witness) was saved by victim B by extending his hand," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Kelapa Gading Police, AKP Kiki Tanlim when confirmed, Friday, February 6, 2026.

Victim B was then drawn to the middle of the reservoir or lake until he eventually drowned. Meanwhile, the victim with the initials E was also drawn to the middle of the reservoir and drowned.

"The two victims panicked and couldn't swim," he said.

Meanwhile, T who saw his two friends drowning immediately left the location to report to the victim's parents B.

Meanwhile, witness P reported the incident to the parents of the victim, initials R.

"After the search was carried out, the two victims were found by R's parents in the reservoir or lake behind the STTAL TNI AL Kodamar Complex," he said.

The two victims were then taken to the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital for further examination.

"The incident is suspected to have occurred while the victim was swimming in the reservoir area without the supervision of an adult. Both victims have been taken to the Cempaka Putih Islamic Hospital, Central Jakarta," he said.

Meanwhile, the case is handled by the Kelapa Gading Police, North Jakarta.
