"We as public prosecutors in this case conclude that the defendant has been proven to have legally and convincingly committed a crime without rights or against the law, as stipulated in Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009, as in the primary indictment of the JPU," said the prosecutor, Gutirio Kurniawan as reported by ANTARA.
In his demand, the prosecutor asked the Batam District Court panel to decide that the defendants had been proven to have legally and convincingly committed the crimes as mentioned above.
"To impose a prison sentence on the defendant Weerepat Phongwan with the death penalty with an order that the defendant be kept in a state prison," said Gustirio.
Similar demands were also read for the other five defendants after the defendant Weerepat Phongwan's demands were read.
