The Observer Said, Hanafi Resigned From PAN Because Zulkifli Was Disappointed That His Father Was Removed

JAKARTA - Hanafi Rais' younger brother, Mumtaz Rais, thinks there are three things that have made his brother resign from the National Mandate Party (PAN) and his position as Chairman of the PAN Faction of the DPR RI.

First, because they were carried away by feelings or baper with the results of the V PAN Congress in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi. Second, because they are facing the Pilkada, and third because they want to focus on academic activities.

A political observer from Al-Azhar University Indonesia, Ujang Komarudin, assessed that the first factor was not the main cause of Hanafi's resignation.

Ujang said that Hanafi was not a baper, but it was uncomfortable to remain in Zulkifli Hasan's party. This is because his father, Amien Rais, was removed by Zulkifli.

"Hanafi Rais is not at home in PAN and it is impossible for him to be in PAN, while his father Amien Rais was removed by Zulhas," said Ujang when contacted by VOI.

Hanafi's resignation, he said, was more about moral support, solidarity, and the child's devotion to his parents.

He considered that the decision Hanafi made was rational when he was uncomfortable in a place, including in the party organization and experienced disappointment.

"I see Hanafi disappointed with PAN because instead of joining forces after the post-congress, currently they are getting rid of each other," he said.

In his statement, Mumtaz Rais who is also the son-in-law of the Chairman of PAN Zulkifli Hasan respected Hanafi's resignation from party management and his position as a member of the Indonesian Parliament.

To respond to news developments regarding Hanafi Rais' resignation as a member of the DPR and his resignation from the PAN management, there will be 3 possibilities. (Because frankly, I also just learned about Hanafi Rais' information about withdrawing from the news sent via WA groups)

The first,

We, the PAN institution respect his decision to resign, because of course it has been well thought out. However, as party partners, we really regret this decision because my brother Hanafi Rais did not show maturity in politics.

We should all be wise and wise in responding to political contestation, especially regarding the results of the 2020 PAN V Congress in Kendari which was won by my brother Zulkifli Hasan legally and legitimately, even with a very clear vote difference, namely a difference of 106 votes. It was an absolute victory!

Especially in this era of the COVID-19 pandemic where the Indonesian people are experiencing overwhelming and difficulty, it would be really selfish if we still think about personal or certain group interests above the interests of the people and the nation.

We saw in the PAN I National Meeting which was held today, May 5, 2020 (which just received an award from MURI), how all PAN figures can unite and try to give the best contribution to the country. There are my brothers Hatta Rajasa, Soetrisno Bachir, Drajad Wibowo, Asman Abnur etc., who put aside differences to jointly advance this party we love. Not to mention the DPW and DPD PAN throughout Indonesia who participated in providing assistance to constituents in their respective regions.

I also want to underline that the "political baper" attitude shown by Hanafi Rais and his younger siblings, Hanum Rais and Tasniem Rais, will not affect me at all, Mumtaz Rais, because indeed the path taken has been different since the Pandean incident, namely the incident. expulsion and persecution against me in February 2020 (due to differences in political choices in the PAN Congress).

I am still quite young in politics, but I understand manners. I don't embrace the mutungan, crybaby, and melodramatic mentality of striving for good. We are optimistic, "die one grows a thousand". InsyaAllah, in the future there will be more PAN cadres who are more fierce and more potential.

The second,

Hanafi's resignation could also be a form of strategy to square off against Pilkada contestation. As we know Hanafi is already a member of the Legislative Assembly, there is a possibility that he wants to try his luck in the Executive path by becoming Regional Head, so that he can serve the people directly. Becoming a regional head is a good and legitimate goal, we DPP PAN are ready to fully support if that is the best political choice.

(Because the issue that came up from friends in Jogja was like that, Hanafi wants to go to Sleman 1 or Gunkid 1).

The third,

The possibility of Hanafi resigning is because Hanafi wants to be more devoted in living his days as an academic, to be closer to his family's biduk. Taking and completing a doctoral program abroad is a necessity. Allah knows best, A'lam Bishawab.
