Central Java - Efforts to strengthen the independence of pesantren continue to be carried out by Darusy Syahadah Islamic Boarding School, Simo District, Boyolali Regency, through the Seminar and Improvement of Capacity Towards Sustainable Darusy Syahadah Islamic Boarding School. The program, which will last until Thursday, February 5, 2026, is facilitated by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror Police through the Central Java Task Force.
This activity is part of a empowerment program that focuses on increasing human resource capacity and strengthening the productive economy of pesantren. Students and pesantren managers are equipped with various practical skills that can be developed as sustainable business units.
Central Java Densus 88 Police Task Force Chief, Kombes Pol. Choirul Anam, explained that pesantren has a strategic role in building social resilience of the community. Therefore, the approach taken is not only oriented on security aspects, but also on strengthening the capacity and independence of the pesantren community.
"We want pesantren to have relevant skills, so that students are not only spiritually strong, but also economically independent," he said.
In its implementation, this program involves the Ministry of Agriculture as well as elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda). The training materials provided include coffee planting and processing, barista training, barber skills (barbershop), to dairy goat farming management.
Choirul Anam added that this activity was designed as a sustainable soft approach to strengthen social resilience, create an inclusive environment, and encourage former terrorism convicts to be able to play a productive role in the community.
The head of Ponpes Darusy Syahadah, Ustadz Qosdi Ridwanullah, assessed that the program was very relevant to the needs of pesantren, especially in strengthening business units as a support for operational sustainability.
"This training provides applicable knowledge and can be immediately developed. The enthusiasm of teachers and students is very high," he said.
Currently, Ponpes Darusy Syahadah is fostering more than 300 orphans and dhuafa, with all educational and daily life needs borne by the pesantren. Strengthening economic independence is considered an important factor in maintaining the sustainability of social development.
Through this empowerment program, it is hoped that Ponpes Darusy Syahadah will be able to become an example of an independent pesantren economically, as well as contributing to strengthening religious moderation and diversity in Central Java.
