JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana said President Prabowo Subianto ordered his party to continue to improve the quality and safety of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program.

"Mr. President said that BGN must continue to work carefully. The target is still being pursued, but quality and safety must be improved, that is the direction of Mr. President," said Dadan as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, February 2.

He also stated that currently the MBG Program has formed 22,275 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) which serve 60.7 million beneficiaries. BGN targets that by 2026, its accreditation certification team will be formed immediately so that all SPPGs have good qualifications.

"We will later grade and determine which SPPG is superior or A grade, then SPPG is very good or B grade, and SPPG is good or C grade, then maybe there are SPPGs that have to fight to be able to continue their activities," he said.

Dadan explained, in 2026, BGN will emphasize on improving the quality of MBG and conducting additional education where beneficiaries not only receive nutritional fulfillment interventions, but also receive education related to the selection of healthy foods.

Meanwhile, President Prabowo Subianto said the government's priority programs, ranging from MBG, free health checks, to education equalization, have shown real achievements while providing broad economic impact for the community.

Prabowo said that all of these policies were carried out in an integrated manner as part of the national development strategy to strengthen the economic foundation, improve the quality of human resources, and realize sustainable people's welfare.

He said that by 2026, the MBG Program had grown rapidly and reached tens of millions of beneficiaries throughout Indonesia.

The President also explained that the implementation of the MBG Program also had a wide economic impact. The program created a business and employment ecosystem in various regions.
