Jambi - The Jambi Provincial Education Office (Disdik) has built collaboration with the Kolonel Muhammad Syukur Jambi Mental Hospital to carry out mental health tests for all teachers and education personnel in the region.
"We (Disdik) have been ordered by the Governor through an internal meeting, we will prepare and have coordinated with the Director of RSJ," said Acting (Plt) Head of Education for Jambi Province Muhammad Umar in Jambi, Monday, quoted by Antara.
He revealed that the first stage of psychological tests related to mental and spiritual health targeted the head of the education unit, especially state schools with a target of 289 heads of state schools (kepsek) at the SMA and SMK levels.
According to Umar, the psychological test aims to find out the understanding of the principal about educational management. At the same time, minimize the occurrence of violations in schools, such as cases of violence that have occurred in the past.
The implementation of the psychiatric test is scheduled to take place in the second week of February 2026, the source of the test budget uses the funds for operational assistance for educational units (BOSP).
"We will check the financing again, because in the education service it is not budgeted. We will try to delve into it through the BOSP fund," he said.
Apart from the plan to test the mental health of teachers and education personnel, the Jambi Provincial Education Office is currently drafting rules and sending a circular letter (SE) to schools regarding restrictions on the use of mobile phones for students during study hours.
The education service gives instructions so that schools prepare storage boxes (locker rooms) to limit the use of mobile phones in schools.
The rules are expected to make students more wise in using telecommunication devices at school.
"The circulation has been delivered so that storage boxes can be prepared, mobile phones can be used only for online learning activities," said Umar.
