"From the search efforts, the victim was finally found by the joint SAR team in a dead state," said the Head of the Padang SAR Office, Abdul Malik, Sunday.

He explained that the victim's body was found by officers about 500 meters from the location where he was reported missing, then immediately evacuated to the funeral home.

"The search was carried out by dividing the team into three units, then conducting a search at sea using a boat," he said.

He explained that the search and rescue efforts also involved Polairud personnel, TNI, Brimob, Satpol-PP, and local residents.

The victim found by the officers was named Rozi (8), with an address in Pasia Nan Tigo Village, Koto Tangah, Padang City.

The accident not only took the life of Rozi, but also two other children named Akbar (8) and Akmal (8).

The three of them were initially bathing at Ujung Batu Beach, Padang on Saturday (31/1), then suddenly swept away by the current.

As a result, the three victims were declared missing. The search was carried out by local residents until they found two victims, Akbar and Akmal, dead.
