Asked about the alleged TPPU for the release of the Mandalika Circuit Land, the NTB Prosecutor's Office: It is not possible to comment yet

JAKARTA - The West Nusa Tenggara High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati NTB) asked to wait for the results of the performance of investigators related to the alleged money laundering (TPPU) in the land acquisition case in the Mandalika Circuit, Central Lombok Regency.

"Later we will see that. Meanwhile, everything is still being deepened. Let the friends of the investigators work first. What is clear is that this is an investigation. We can't comment," said the Special Criminal Assistant (Aspidsus) of the NTB Regional Attorney General, Muh. Zulkifli Said in Mataram, Friday, quoted by Antara.

Regarding the direction of the TPPU investigation from the corruption case for the procurement of 70 hectares of land for the construction of the MXGP Circuit in the Samota area, Sumbawa Regency, Zulkifli stated that this TPPU does not revolve around the main crime of the corruption case for the procurement of land in Samota, but develops following the movement of money from each party involved.

"So, some of them follow the main crime, but we also trace other money flows. That's why, the TPPU Sprin (investigation order) is still one unit with the alleged corruption case of Samota," he said.

Regarding the return of corruption money for land procurement of Rp. 6.7 billion in the investigation phase which has named a suspect, Zulkifli emphasized that this does not affect the TPPU investigation process.

Then, for information on the examination of a number of notaries and aides of Subhan, one of the suspects in the position of Head of BPN Central Lombok in the TPPU investigation series, Zulkifli was not willing to give a response.

In the investigation of the TPPU, the results of the development of the corruption case in the Samota area, he said, the NTB Prosecutor's Office collaborated with PPATK (Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center).

The examination of the suspects Subhan and Muhammad Julkarnaen is also included in the TPPU investigation series. Subhan's wife is also included in the agenda.

The Prosecutor's Office named Subhan as a suspect who played a role as the head of land procurement while holding the position of Head of BPN Sumbawa.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Julkarnaen as the assessment team from the private sector is from the Public Assessment Service Office (KJPP).

On Thursday, the NTB Prosecutor's Office named an additional suspect, namely Saipullah Zulkarnain, the leader of a colleague from the KJPP who carried out an appraisal of the acquisition of the Samota MXGP land in 2022-2023.

In determining the suspects, the Prosecutor's Office applies the presumption of criminal liability in accordance with the new Criminal Code regarding corruption, namely Article 603 and/or Article 604 in conjunction with Article 20 letter c of Law Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code.
