After MBG Snack, Dozens of Kudus Students Fall Down and Are Taken to Hospital

KUDUS - Dozens of students at SMA 2 Kudus, Central Java who previously experienced symptoms of nausea and vomiting and dizziness after eating the Free Nutritional Meal (MBG) menu had to undergo hospitalization after being observed by a medical team.

"Previously, it was recorded that there were 34 students who had to undergo hospitalization at six hospitals in Kudus Regency," said Acting Head of the Kudus Regency Health Office Mustiko Wibowo, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 30.

The six hospitals are Loekmono Hadi Kudus Hospital, Mardi Rahayu Hospital, Kartika Hospital, Kumala Siwi Hospital, Islamic Hospital, and Aisyiyah Hospital.

He estimated that some had returned home after receiving treatment, so the data must be updated for the exact number as of today (30/1).

A total of 34 students who had to undergo hospitalization, he said, were students who had previously been treated at a number of hospitals. After observation, they were asked to be hospitalized.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Sunan Kudus Islamic Hospital (RSI) Ahmad Syaifuddin confirmed that there were five SMA 2 Kudus students who were hospitalized at the hospital.

Initially, he said, there were 16 children undergoing treatment on Thursday (29/1), then after observation there were five children who had to undergo hospitalization.

"Today (30/1), the condition of the five patients has improved. Hopefully today (30/1) they can go home," he said.

Meanwhile, the Director of Loekmono Hadi Kudus Hospital, Abdul Hakam, revealed that there were 18 SMA 2 Kudus students who were hospitalized. However, three patients, including one, asked to go home at their own request.

Other hospitals, such as the Mardi Rahayu Kudus Hospital, also recorded two patients suspected of poisoning MBG who were hospitalized.

Based on data from the Kudus Regency Health Office, as of Thursday (29/1) afternoon, the number of students and teachers and education staff at SMA 2 Kudus who had to undergo treatment at seven hospitals reached 118 people.

The seven hospitals are Loekmono Hadi Kudus Hospital, Mardi Rahayu Kudus Hospital, Sarkies Aisyiyah Hospital, Kudus Hospital, Kumala Siwi Hospital, Kartika Hospital, and Aisyiyah Hospital.
