JAYAPURA - Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri confirmed the refund of IDR 6 billion, jewelry and a Rolex watch belonging to the late Deputy Governor of Papua Klemen Tinal and his wife who had previously been declared missing.

"It is true that there were refunds and various jewelry that had disappeared from the official residence of the Deputy Governor, which is located at Dok V Atas Jayapura," said the Kapolda in Jayapura, Monday.

Refunds of money and jewelry belonging to the late Deputy Governor Tinal and his family were handed over through Dansat Brimob Kombes Godhelp Mansnembra.

So far, it has not been determined how much damage was caused by the damage to the Papuan Deputy Governor's official house which was damaged by a group of residents because the officers were still doing the calculations.

"We have secured CCTV and it is currently being studied," said Fakhiri.

This case is now handled by the Directorate of General Crimes of the Papua Police. The lost items have been returned intact but to educate the public the case is still being investigated so that it does not repeat itself.

"Don't make it a culture because it's against the law," said the Kapolda.

However, if the Deputy Governor's wife, Yolanda Tinal, states that she does not want to continue the case, the police will respect her.

Papua Deputy Governor Klement Tinal died Friday, May 21 in Jakarta and the body was buried in Timika on Monday, May 24.
