DENPASAR - The Denpasar City Police, Bali, revealed the origin of a firearm sold by a member of the TNI AD Reserve Component (Komcad) with the initials ASR (34) in Denpasar.
Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit (Kasat Reskrim) of the Denpasar Police, Kompol Agus Riwayanto Diputra, said the weapon sold by ASR was a weapon he brought from Lampung to Bali in 2023.
"The perpetrator of the ASR is a resident of Lampung, the person concerned is basically looking for a job. So, he came to Bali to sell firearms," said Agus.
Agus explained that the weapon was not an organic weapon belonging to the TNI or the Police but a foreign-made weapon of the SIG Sauer type. SIG Sauer is a weapon manufactured by a Swiss and German collaboration.
To the investigators, ASR admitted to buying the weapon from a friend named Erik, while still working in Lampung in 2022 for a price of Rp. 2 million.
