PK Granted, Former Mayor Of Medan Rahudman Harahap To Be Released Soon

MEDAN - The former mayor of Medan, Rahudman Harahap will soon breathe free air. The Supreme Court (MA) granted the judicial review (PK) he submitted.

The head of Medan Class I prison, Erwedi Supriyatno, explained that his party had received a notification stating that Rahudman Harahap was released.

"We just received an email from the PK quote stating that the person concerned (Rahudman Harahap) was released," he said, Monday, May 31.

However, the original decision on the PK submitted by Rahudman Harahap has not yet been accepted. Therefore, the original decision is still pending to release Rahudman.

"Not yet (Rahudman is free today)," he explained.

To carry out the PK decision which declared Rahudman Harahap free, the prison is awaiting execution from the prosecutor's office.

"We are waiting for the execution of the prosecutor at the Central Jakarta District Attorney," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the Information and Legal Section (Penkum) of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office, Sumangar Siagian, said that his party had not yet received a copy of the Supreme Court's decision on the case against Rahudman Harahap.

"We have not received a copy of the verdict yet. So, it is not true whether he (Rahudman Harahap) is free," said Sumangar.

Sumangar asked all parties not to claim that Rahudman Harahap was free today. Because the team executing the authority of the Central Jakarta District Attorney.

"We are waiting (a copy of the verdict), so we don't know yet. Wait for it from the Central Jakarta Kejari," said Sumangar.
