The Joint Team of Fire Fighting, Burning Land in West Aceh is Under Control

MEULABOH - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of West Aceh Regency stated that so far 14 hectares of land that had been burned in three sub-districts in the area had been successfully extinguished after a joint team carried out extinguishing efforts at a number of points.

Acting Head of the West Aceh Regency BPBD Teuku Ronald Nehdiansyah said that out of a total of 19 hectares of land affected by the fire, most of it had been successfully handled.

"Of the total 19 hectares of land that has been burned, currently 14 hectares have been successfully handled by the fire," said Teuku Ronald in Meulaboh, Antara, Monday, January 26.

He explained that the land that was burned and had been successfully extinguished in the Johan Pahlawan District included Suak Raya Village with an area of 5 hectares, Lapang Village 4 hectares, and Suak Nie Village 3 hectares.

In addition, the land fire in Alue Peunyareng Village, Meureubo District, with an area of about 0.5 hectares has also been successfully extinguished. Meanwhile, in Woyla District, the extinguishing was carried out in Aron Baroh Village and Blang Luah Village, each with an area of 0.5 hectares.

However, the West Aceh BPBD together with the joint team is still continuing to carry out extinguishing efforts in a number of locations where the fire is still active. These locations include Suak Raya Village with an area of 2.5 hectares, Ujong Beurasok Lapang Village with an area of 0.5 hectares, Peulanteue Village, Bubon District, with an area of 1 hectare, and Blang Luah Village, West Woyla District, with an area of 0.5 hectares.

In an effort to handle the land fire, BPBD West Aceh involved various elements, including the fire service personnel of the West Aceh BPBD, Damkar Woyla District, Damkar Meureubo District, Manggala Agni Daops personnel of Sumatra I Sibolangit, North Sumatra, TNI, Polri, Forest Management Unit (KPH) Region IV Aceh, and local people.

Teuku Ronald said that his party together with the joint team would continue to try to extinguish the remaining fire points so that the land fire could be fully handled and not spread to threaten the residents' settlements.
