JAKARTA - Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung emphasized the importance of developing a corporate culture as the main foundation of Bank Jakarta in preparing to become an open company or initial public offering (IPO). This was emphasized by Pramono when giving a speech at the Bank Jakarta 2025 working meeting.

Pramono assessed that the steps towards an IPO cannot only be based on financial performance, but must be preceded by the formation of a strong work culture and embedded in all Bank Jakarta people. According to him, corporate culture will determine the direction of bank management in the long term.

"To become an IPO bank, the corporate culture must be properly formed and has become an inherent part of the company," said Pramono in West Jakarta, Thursday, January 22.

Apart from work culture, Pramono also highlighted the importance of building effective teamwork. He encouraged the Bank Jakarta management to prioritize the work smart work pattern rather than just work hard, considering that the banking sector requires accuracy and efficiency in every decision-making.

"I suggest that because this is the banking world, you don't need to work hard, but you have to work smart," he said.

According to Pramono, smart teamwork, discipline, and supported by a strong organizational culture will have a direct impact on the transparency of decision-making within the company. This transparency, he said, is the key to closing the space for conflicts and personal interests.

"If transparency is formed, the space for disputes, intrigues, and personal interests will disappear by itself," he said.

Pramono also reminded Bank Jakarta to avoid excessive bureaucracy. He assessed that long bureaucracy was not in line with the character of business entities and could actually reduce competitiveness and public confidence.

"If people come to Bank Jakarta and see the bureaucracy is long, the company will not be considered promising," he explained.

Pramono emphasized that trust is the main capital in the business world. He hopes that Bank Jakarta will not only rely on the Jakarta Provincial Government as the main customer, but will be able to build a wider base of trust in the community.

"If trust has been built, the main customers are no longer only the DKI Provincial Government, but the public," he said.

He hopes that teamwork, transparency, debirokratisasi, and problem solving skills can become an inseparable part of Bank Jakarta's corporate culture. Pramono is optimistic that, with consistency in implementing these values, Bank Jakarta can list on the exchange in the near future.

"I believe that hopefully next year Bank Jakarta will have an IPO, Bank Jakarta will be public property, trusted by the public, and most importantly, the teamwork at Bank Jakarta will be more solid, stronger, and more oriented to contribute to Jakarta," he concluded.

Responding to the direction, Bank Jakarta President Director Agus Haryoto Widodo stated that management was ready to follow up on strengthening the corporate culture as well as finalizing the IPO preparations. Agus said that throughout 2026 Bank Jakarta had prepared three strategic initiatives to strengthen the fundamentals and increase investor confidence.

"As part of efforts to strengthen the fundamentals of Bank Jakarta and increase the confidence of prospective investors, we have prepared three major strategic initiatives throughout 2026," said Agus.

The first initiative focuses on the development of more reliable information technology infrastructure. Bank Jakarta will develop a new data center, improve the core banking system, and strengthen cyber security as part of operational risk mitigation.

"We will develop two modern and resilient data centers, improve core applications, and strengthen cyber security systems," he said.

Agus targets the project to be completed in September 2026. The second initiative targets the development of a new generation mobile banking application that is considered more relevant to the needs of the Jakarta community.

"We designed this application to be more reliable, safe, fast, easy to use, cost-efficient, and relevant to the needs of the people of Jakarta," said Agus.

He targeted that the application can be launched in June 2026 while still meeting all regulatory requirements. Meanwhile, the third initiative is aimed at strengthening the product portfolio through the launch of the Bank Jakarta credit card.

"We are also preparing a Bank Jakarta Credit Card product which is expected to become a new revenue pool and complement the customer transaction ecosystem," he said.
