MAKASSAR - The Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team managed to identify one of the victims of the ATR 42-500 plane crash, who was a flight attendant on behalf of Florencia Lolita, after post mortem and ante mortem examinations at the DVI Post, Biddokkes South Sulawesi Police (Sulsel).

"The body with post mortem number 62B.01 matches the ante mortem number AM004, identified as Florencia Lolita Wibisono, female, age 33 years," said Head of Bidokkes of the South Sulawesi Police, Kombes Pol Muhamad Haris, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, January 21.

The results of the identification were revealed after the team at the DVI Post received a bag of bodies on Tuesday night and carried out careful identification with the DVI team of the National Police, the Sulsel Police Iden team, the Pusiden team of the National Police, and the Department of Forensic and Medicological Sciences of the Faculty of Medicine, Hasanuddin University (Unhas).

"The address (victim) is Apartment Walk Tower A Unit 216 Bulo Gadung, East Jakarta. (Identification) through fingerprints, dental data, property and medical characteristics," he said.

Head of the Presidential Bareskrim Police, Brigadier General Mashudi, added that the corpse was still in good condition, so that the existing fingerprints could still be read.

"So, we immediately took his fingerprints, then with the equipment we have, we can immediately read the identity of the person concerned," he said.

"But to ensure and prove it scientifically, we compared it by taking the left hand thumb fingerprint and comparing it with other comparison data we have.

"For example, we take fingerprints at post mortem, then we make a manual comparison with the comparison data. So, we can scientifically believe that the person concerned is Florencia Lolita Wibisono," he said.

Sulsel Police Chief Inspector General Pol Djuhandhani Rahardjo Puro said the victim's identity was revealed after it was scientifically proven and the DVI team's examination was internationally recognized so that the results were valid and accountable.

"As the Head of the National Police and the Deputy President said earlier, the results of the examination are indisputable, the identity data is identical to the victim," said the Police Chief.

Regarding the handover of the victim's body to the family, Djuhandhani said that it would be handed over further to Basarnas as the leading sector in handling the plane crash.
