Alleged Crypto Investment Fraud Case Still Under Witness and Expert Examination

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has not scheduled an examination of the accused Timothy Ronald and Kalimasada regarding the alleged cryptocurrency investment case because it is still focusing on examining experts and witnesses.

"Until now, there is no schedule for the examination of the accused. Investigators are still focusing on the examination of witnesses and experts," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Police Budi Hermanto in his statement, Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the number of victims with similar cases increased, namely a woman with the initials AS also reported to the Central Integrated Police Service (SPKT) of the Polda Metro Jaya on Monday, January 19, 2026.

In the report, the victim admitted that he had suffered a loss of IDR 1 billion. The victim's report has been registered with the number STTLP/B/483/1/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA.

The victim said he joined in 2023 to 2024 but did not match the vision and mission promised.

In this case, the reporter was charged with Article 1/2024 of the Law on the Second Amendment to Law Number 11/2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions as referred to in Article 45A Paragraph (1) Juncto 28 (1) and or Article 80, 81 and 82 of Law No. 3 of 2011 concerning Fund Transfers and or Article 492 of the Criminal Code and or Article 607 paragraph (1) letter a, b, c of Law No. 1 of 2023.

Previously, the victim named Younger alias Y together with his lawyer also came to the Polda Metro Jaya to hand over a number of evidence related to the cryptocurrency investment fraud that dragged the name TR alias Timothy Ronald and K alias Kalimasada.

"We attach some evidence such as transaction evidence, then evidence of referral codes, then video evidence, there is also a flash drive, we attach evidence that the person we report invites, promises to have a profit of 300 even up to 500 percent," said Younger's lawyer, Jajang.
