JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has held a trial or expose to determine the legal status of Madiun Mayor Maidi and eight people who were brought to Jakarta after being caught in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, January 19.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the expose was held last night and was attended by the leadership along with authorized structural officials.

"It was decided that this investigation would rise to the investigation stage. In the expose, the legal status of the parties who were secured within 1x24 hours had also been established," Budi told reporters in a written statement, Tuesday, January 20.

Budi further said that nine out of 15 people who were secured during the OTT in Madiun City were still being investigated. The announcement of the parties who are suspects and their actions will be conveyed through a press conference.

"Currently, the parties are still being examined by investigators."

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Madiun Maidi arrived at the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta at 22.30 WIB. He and eight other people were flown on a commercial flight from Surabaya, East Java at around 19.20 WIB.

When arriving at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Maidi appeared to be wearing a blue-colored hat and jacket. He also carried a black pouch in his right hand and a light blue handbag in his left hand.
