Caught by the KPK OTT, Madiun Mayor Maidi Bakal Brought to Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said 15 people were caught in a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in the Madiun City area, East Java today, January 19. One of them is the Mayor of Madiun Maidi.

"Yes, today the team is conducting a closed investigation by securing a number of 15 people in the Madiun area, East Java," said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo through his written statement, Monday, January 19.

Of these, 9 of them will be taken to Jakarta for further examination. "One of them is the Mayor of Madiun," he said.

Budi said the team in the field found a number of evidence, including cash. "Hundreds of millions of rupiah," he said.

The hand arrest is suspected to be related to the bribery of project fees and CSR funds in the Madiun City area. However, Budi has not detailed it more fully.

After holding a hand-in-hand, the KPK has 1x24 hours to determine which party is a suspect. More complete information will be conveyed through a press conference.
