One victim was found dead, while another one is still missing. The joint SAR team managed to find a victim named Alfin Alfiandi (28), a resident of Cilembut Lebak Village, Cilembut Village, Sukaraja District, Bogor Regency, on Sunday evening.
The incident began when three tourists were playing on the edge of Sunset Beach, specifically behind Villa Philita, Karangpapak Village. Unexpectedly, a big wave came and immediately hit them.
Two of the three tourists, namely Alfin Alfiandi and Angga Ardiansyah (30), did not have time to save themselves and were swept into the middle of the sea. While the other one managed to survive.
Sukabumi SAR Post Coordinator, Suryo Adianto, said the victim Alfin was found not far from the location of the incident after a joint team search.
"The victim was found on the edge of the beach, specifically behind the Cisolok Police Office. It is about 500 meters from the initial location of the incident," said Suryo, Monday, January 19.
Meanwhile, another victim in the name of Angga Ardiansyah is still being searched. The joint SAR team consisting of Basarnas, Polairud Sukabumi Police, Sarda, and TNI elements continues to search around the Sunset Beach waters.
"The search will continue until the victim is found. The focus of the search is still around the scene of the incident," said Suryo.
After being found, Alfin Alfiandi's body was immediately evacuated to the Palabuhanratu Hospital for further treatment before being handed over to the family.
