Catholic Youth Holds Diklatsar Paskokat Wave III in Lampung, Emphasizes Kaderisasi and Ecological Awareness

JAKARTA - Catholic youth held the Basic Education and Training (Diklatsar) of the Catholic Youth Corps (Paskokat) Wave III at the Lampung Police State School (SPN), 16 - 18 January 2026, as an effort to strengthen the kaderization and at the same time emphasize the ecological concern of Catholic youth.

The opening of the activity was marked by the act of watering plants as a symbol of environmental love and ecological repentance, in line with the spirit of Laudato Si' in caring for the earth as a common home.

Carrying the theme "Ad Maiora Natus Sum", hundreds of participants from Catholic Youth, OMK, students, teachers, and Catholic youth activists were applauded as a step towards Paskokat membership.

The General Chair of the Catholic Youth, Stefanus Gusma, emphasized that Paskokat is the organization's national strategic program.

"Paskokat is Basic Education and Training to form cadres who are militant, patriotic, social-minded, and ready to serve the nation and the Church. The focus is on discipline, patriotism, disaster response, humanitarian action, and organizational consolidation," he said in a written statement, Saturday, January 17, 2026.

He added that Paskokat not only focuses on physical training, but also character formation and social sensitivity.

"We want to produce young Catholic patriots who are sensitive, resilient, and ready to use in the community. The involvement of cross-faith instructors, including the Police, is a means of strengthening national and fraternal spirit. The ecological dimension is an important part of disaster resilience and concrete spirituality," he said.

The Bishop of Tanjung Karang, Mgr. Vinsensius Setiawan Triatmojo, expressed appreciation and support for the implementation of the Paskokat Diklatsar.

"The Church welcomes this activity. It is hoped that this will produce Catholic youth who have strong character, mature faith, care for others, and are able to be salt and light in the community," he said.

Meanwhile, the National Commander of Paskokat, Yustinus Wuarmanuk, explained that the Diklatsar Paskokat Wave III uses an integrated training method.

"This training combines discipline and mental coaching, strengthening national character, forming ecological spirit, and improving various strategic soft skills," he explained.

Participants are equipped with disaster management and first aid skills, public negotiation and lobbying, non-litigation advocacy, service-based leadership, mass organization, to strengthening social networks based on ecological concerns in the midst of disaster and community challenges.

The Head of the Catholic Youth of the Lampung Regional Command, Falentinus Andi, added that this activity was carried out thanks to cross-sector collaboration.

"Paskokat Wave III is carried out through cooperation with St. Anna Hospital, Perdhaki Lampung, and the Health Commission. This synergy strengthens the readiness of cadres, especially in the humanitarian and health service aspects," he concluded.

The activity was also attended by the Bishop of Tanjung Karang, Mgr. Vinsensius Setiawan Triatmojo, representatives of the Lampung Provincial Government through the Senen Kesbangpol Agency, Mustakim, representatives of the Lampung Police through AKBP Ramlan, Deputy Head of the Lampung Police, the Board of Trustees of the Catholic Youth Komda Lampung AKBP Feirizal, and cross-religious community organizations and Catholic organizations such as WKRI, ISKA, and PMKRI.
