JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is urged to seriously investigate alleged abuse of authority and potential corruption cases involving Febrie Adriansyah as Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus).
This demand was conveyed by the Anti-Corruption Community Movement (Gema Aksi) who visited the KPK Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, January 15. They asked Febrie to be investigated for alleged disappearance of evidence in the Jiwasraya corruption case, which was worth hundreds of billions of rupiah.
"There are three main allegations, namely the alleged abuse of authority in handling strategic corruption cases; alleged conflicts of interest in making legal decisions; alleged conditioning of law enforcement that has the potential to protect certain parties," said Gema Action Coordinator, Borut in his speech.
In addition to the KPK, Gema Aksi also carried out a similar action at the Office of the Financial Services Authority (OJK). Because, when Febrie was still serving as the Director of Investigation of the Attorney General's Office, he allegedly made a letter to the institution as if the confiscated goods in the Jiwasraya corruption case were not evidence.
So, the return to the owner must be made. The goods seized at that time were 472,166,000 BJBR shares from KSEI to the account of PT Jiwasraya.
"We are doing this action for public participation to encourage a professional, transparent, and accountable clarification and enforcement process," said Borut.
The Gema Action also urged the OJK to clarify the alleged involvement of its agency which made the BJBR stock evidence worth Rp. 377 billion disappear. "This is not about a certain person or institution," said Borut.
"Except for ensuring that the power of law enforcement is not immune from public scrutiny," he continued.
The Kerakyatan Youth Association (SPKR) previously also conveyed the same demand to the KPK. They asked for the case involving Febrie to be investigated.
"SPKR urges the Corruption Eradication Commission or KPK to investigate the role of Febrie Adryansah as the former Director of Investigation of Jampidsus, who is currently serving as Jampidsus in issuing a letter revoking the blocking of shares which resulted in the disappearance of confiscated assets worth around Rp. 377.7 billion," said Amri as representative of SPKR in the Red and White building of the KPK, Kuningan PErsada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, January 7.
The alleged involvement of Febrie, continued Amri, was based on the issuance of Letter Number R-769/F.2/Fd.2/05/2020 which was signed by the Director of Investigation of Jampidsus. The document is claimed to have also asked the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to lift the block and return 472,166,000 BJBR shares from KSEI to the account of PT Jiwasraya.
"In fact, when the letter was issued, the Jiwasraya case was in status P21. In fact, later, the shares in question were expressly stated in the Supreme Court's cassation decision No. 2931/K/Pid.Sus/2021 as evidence seized for the state," he said.
"This condition raises the suspicion that there is an administrative decision that is not in line with the ongoing criminal legal process," continued Amri.
