JAKARTA - The joint SAR team stated that extreme weather was a hindrance to the search process for a fisherman who was missing in the waters of Kuala Penet, East Lampung Regency (Lamtim).

The search for a fisherman named Nurdin (46) from Marga Sari Village, Labuhan Maringgai District, has entered the sixth day and still has not produced results.

"The joint SAR team is still trying to search until expanding the monitoring area, but so far it has not yielded results," said Head of the Bakauheni SAR Post Rezie Kuswara when contacted from South Lampung, Thursday, quoted by Antara.

He explained that the team in the field struggled to go through the sea area using one Basarnas boat and a fishing boat. However, in carrying out the search, his party was hampered by bad weather and large waves.

"Yes, almost every afternoon there is a storm, making it difficult for the team to search," he said.

However, his party is still struggling to find the whereabouts of the victim, even the search will continue until the seventh day.

According to him, the incident occurred on Friday (9/1), around 17.00 WIB, when the KM Aldo Putra 02 was sailing to the mouth of Kuala Penet returning from the sea.

Upon arrival at the destination, the captain of the KM Aldo Putra 02 ship on behalf of Nurdin and ABK named Ardi and As folded the fishing net.

"After finishing folding the fishing gear, Ardi and As immediately moved to the stern of the ship to clean the nets, but they did not find Nurdin," he said.

Nurdin is estimated to have fallen into the sea.
