NAGAN RAYA - Officials from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Province, together with the TNI, Polri, and the community, evacuated the body of Ibnu Hajar (64), a resident of Krueng Seumayam Village, Darul Makmur District, who was suspected of being a victim of a Sumatran Tiger attack in the local village forest area.

"The victim's body has now been buried by the family," said Head of the Nagan Raya Regency BPBD Irfanda Rinaldi to ANTARA, Thursday, January 15.

He said that the victim, Ibnu Hajar, had previously said goodbye to his colleague to deliver fuel for the chainsaw engine and also took the equipment into the forest in the Krueng Seumayam Village area, Darul Makmur District, Nagan Raya Regency, on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Until Monday, January 12, 2026, the victim Ibnu Hajar did not return, which made the victim's family and colleagues restless, and then an effort was made to search for the victim in the forest.

BPBD Nagan Raya, TNI, and Polri officers, together with the community, then carried out a search effort into the forest area and traced the trails and hoped to find the victim.

After a long search, said Irfanda, officers found a number of items suspected to belong to the victim in the forest area.

Not only that, the joint team also found several parts of human body parts suspected to be the victims of Ibn Hajar, so that the body parts were collected by officers and family members.

"The family believes that the body parts belong to the victim," he said.

Because of curiosity, the search efforts continued so that the joint team and the victim's family found the victim's body in a gruesome condition, so that the body was evacuated to be taken to the victim's house to be buried properly.

Irfanda Rinaldi said that the search for parts of Ibnu Hajar's body until Thursday, January 15, could not be continued because it was very risky for officers.

"If we continue the search effort, it is very risky, because the tiger is still roaming around the location of the incident," said Irfanda.

During the search efforts, the joint team and the community also saw a Sumatran tiger around the location of the discovery, so that this search effort was not continued to avoid unwanted things.
