Carrying Asusila, the Examination of Misri-Meylani Putri at the Death Trial of Brigadier General Nurhadi Held Closed

MATARAM - The Mataram District Court, West Nusa Tenggara, held a closed session on Monday, January 12, for the continuation of the case of the death of Brigadier Muhammad Nurhadi, with the agenda of examining witnesses Misri and Meylani Putri.

The Chairman of the Mataram PN Court of Judges, Lalu Moh. Sandi Iramaya, stated that the trial was held in closed session because the examination material contained indecent content.

The two witnesses are known to be dating friends of the defendants, Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama and Gde Aris Candra Widianto.

"In order to maintain the dignity of the witnesses, the examination was conducted in closed session because it contained indecent content," said Sandi before the oath-taking of witnesses, quoted from Antara.

The decision was taken based on Law Number 13 of 2006 concerning the Protection of Witnesses and Victims and the Supreme Court Regulation regarding women who face the law.

During the trial, it was revealed that one of the witnesses, Meylani Putri, who was the defendant Gde Aris Candra Widianto's dating friend, received protection from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). Meanwhile, Misri, Kompol I's dating friend Made Yogi Purusa Utama, was only accompanied by a legal advisor without protection from the LPSK.

The panel of judges then asked all non-interested participants to leave the courtroom during the examination of the second witness.

"For those who are not interested, please leave," said Sandi.

In addition to Misri and Meylani Putri, the public prosecutor also presented three other witnesses, namely two police officers and a fast boat captain. Two witnesses from the police were the Head of the Central Lombok Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Punguan Hutahaean, who at the time of the incident was the Head of the North Lombok Police Criminal Investigation Unit, and Surya Irawan from Bidpropam Polda NTB. The other witness was Gilang Arif Agustian, the captain of the fast boat.

With a total of five witnesses presented, the public prosecutor for the first time presented three witnesses at once in the trial of this case, namely Punguan Hutahaean, Surya Irawan, and Gilang Arif Agustian.

Brigadier General Muhammad Nurhadi is suspected of having died as a result of persecution while staying with the two defendants and witnesses on Gili Trawangan. The incident occurred at Villa Tekek The Beach House Resort, where Kompol I Made Yogi Purusa Utama stayed with witness Misri.

Based on the results of the examination, the fatal wound that is suspected to have caused the victim's death is a broken tip of the tongue and bleeding on the back of the head.
