PANDEGLANG - The Karyasari Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG), Sukaresmi District, Pandeglang Regency, Banten, clarified the circulation of a video of the distribution of Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program food presented in plastic bags, which does not comply with the National Nutrition Agency's Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) which requires the use of ompreng.
Head of SPPG Karyasari Dimas Dhika Alpiyan explained that the incident occurred on Thursday, January 8, when SPPG prepared and distributed MBG food for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers (3B) beneficiary groups.
According to Dimas, the food was initially prepared and distributed using ompreng according to procedures. However, upon arrival at the recipient's location, a posyandu cadre moved the food from the ompreng into a plastic bag without coordination with the SPPG.
"After the ompreng arrived at the place, by the mother of the concerned cadre, the food in the ompreng was moved and put together in a plastic bag for reasons of spontaneity. After that, the food was given to the beneficiaries of the 3B group, while the ompreng was brought back by the driver in an empty state," said Dimas in an official statement received, Antara, Sunday, January 11.
Dimas said the SPPG only learned of the incident a day later, following the circulation of a video clip on social media showing the presentation of MBG food in plastic bags.
"After the video went viral, we invited the mothers of the cadres to communicate more deeply. They came and clarified that the transfer of food to plastic was done spontaneously," said Dimas.
The Coordinator of the Posyandu Kader of Pasirkadu Village, Sukaresmi District, Lusi, also straightened out the information that was circulating. He emphasized that the food in the video could not be immediately concluded as food that was not fit for consumption.
"The incident was very spontaneous and at that time the weather was not possible. We were afraid that the food would be exposed to rain, so we moved it from the ompreng to plastic," said Lusi.
Meanwhile, the National Nutrition Agency reiterated that all processes of serving and distributing food in the MBG Program must follow the SOP that has been established, including the use of ompreng as the main container, in order to ensure food safety and nutritional quality for beneficiaries.
