JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has ensured that the DKI Provincial Government will carry out the demolition of the old monorail project pillars along Jalan HR Rasuna Said next week.
Historically, the monorail project in Jakarta started in 2024 or during the leadership of Sutiyoso as Governor of DKI Jakarta. At that time, the monorail was initiated as a means of mass transportation to reduce congestion.
Unfortunately, this project was delayed and canceled when the piles were erected. Therefore, Pramono hopes that the demolition of the monorail pole can make Sutiyoso calm.
"Next week, the monorail that has been built since 2004 will be dismantled. I hope, Bang Yos can sleep more soundly, because the monorail is apparently a personal burden for him," said Pramono at the Karet Bivak TPU, South Jakarta, Sunday, January 11.
Pramono also plans to invite the Governor of DKI for the period 1997-2007 to attend the demolition on Wednesday, January 14.
On the one hand, Pramono explained that the allocation of a budget of Rp. 100 billion from the DKI Jakarta Regional Budget in this implementation was not only spent for the demolition of 98 monorail poles along Jalan Rasuna Said.
The DKI Provincial Government will also arrange highways to sidewalks or pedestrian lanes in the Kuningan area at the same time.
"The Rp100 billion spent is not only for dismantling but to make roads, sidewalks, clean up and so on. The total cost to repair Rasuna Said Road is 100 billion. So it's not just dismantling, if dismantling, it's very small (estimate)," explained Pramono.
Meanwhile, Head of the DKI Jakarta Department of Bina Marga Heru Suwondo explained that in the initial stage, the demolition would be carried out by the Yellow Force of the DKI Jakarta Department of Bina Marga. Heru emphasized that his party was ready to immediately dismantle the old monorail project pole that was not completed.
"If we want it to be ready. So because Mr. Gub asked to be dismantled next Wednesday, yes we will carry it out. Because all the rules have been fulfilled. So yes we will do the demolition and we will manage Jalan Rasuna Said," said Heru.
In the demolition of the pole, the DKI Provincial Government also carried out pavement arrangement to road repairs. Later, there will be no more separation between fast lanes and slow lanes because the pole in the middle of the lane has been dismantled.
"Later the fast lane and slow lane separators will disappear, just like on the west side of Jalan Rasuna Said. There the road and sidewalk are already neat. So we will make the road the same as Rasuna Said on the west side. Where there is one busway lane, three regular lanes. The east side will be made the same way," he said.
