Given the Presidential Mandate for 2026, the Minister of Social Affairs Prioritizes the Update of DTSEN to Distribute Social Assistance

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) has made three special mandates of President Prabowo Subianto as the main priority of the work program this year, with a main focus on data improvement, accuracy of social assistance targets, and expansion of public participation.

Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf when met in Jakarta, Friday, January 9, quoted by Antara, said that the President's first mandate to the Ministry of Social Affairs was the update of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN) which became the foundation of all government social protection policies and programs.

The accuracy of DTSEN is considered very important in determining the distribution of social assistance, both for the social assistance program towards graduation, adaptive social assistance, and the People's School program.

Therefore, said Saifullah, the president from the beginning asked for data consolidation nationally with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) as the main mandated party, while the Ministry of Social Affairs was tasked with supporting continuous updates.

The second mandate, continued Saifullah Yusuf, is to ensure that the distribution of social assistance is more targeted through continuous data improvements. He said the government had transferred more than three million regular social assistance (bansos) beneficiary families (KPM) to residents who met more criteria throughout the year.

In addition, the government also transferred more than 11 million recipients of PBI National Health Insurance contributions to the community who are considered more entitled based on updates to socio-economic data.

The third mandate is to open the widest possible participation of the public in the data updating process. The Ministry of Social Affairs, in this case, provides various channels for the public to propose or refute social assistance data.

The channels include formal channels through RT, RW, sub-districts, village operators, and local social services with the support of the New Generation Social Welfare Information System (SIKS-NG) application, as well as direct participation channels through the Cek Bansos application.

"This means that data is continuously updated, yes, every three months. For people who are not used to using the application, the Ministry of Social Affairs is also opening a 24-hour command center service at 021-171 and is preparing a WhatsApp-based service to expand the scope of public participation," he said.

Saifullah emphasized that the government was not closed to correcting data that did not match conditions on the ground and was committed to implementing the President's direction to be more open in managing social data.

He hopes that the implementation of the three mandates can consistently produce increasingly accurate socio-economic data, so that all social ministry programs really reach the people in need.
