KSAD Says Bailey Bridge Successfully Restored Land Access in Aceh

JAKARTA - The Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak ensured that the Takengon-Bireuen National Highway, Gajah Putih District, Bener Meriah Regency, Aceh Province, which was previously damaged by the disaster, had recovered thanks to the bailey bridge built by his party.

The inauguration of the bailey bridge was carried out by Maruli together with the Aceh regional government on Thursday. This bridge is one of the many bailey bridges that have been built by the TNI AD.

"This is the 17th bailey bridge that has been completed from the initial plan of 42 Bailey bridges that we have. However, in the development, the need for bridges in various regions is very large, including in this area," said Maruli in a press release received by ANTARA in Jakarta, Friday, January 9.

Maruli ensured that his party would continue to build bailey bridges as needed in Aceh to accelerate disaster recovery. This is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's order to him as the Sumatra and Aceh Disaster Bridge Task Force.

With the bailey bridge, Maruli hopes that the economic activities of the community, which had previously stagnated, can return to normal as usual.

"This is a tangible manifestation of the presence of the Indonesian Army in the community in helping to handle and recover disaster-affected areas," explained Maruli.
