JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto asked that the discipline of procedures in the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program be further improved.

This was conveyed by Prabowo during the Red and White Cabinet retreat or early year briefing at his residence at the Garuda Yaksa Paddepokan, Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, Tuesday, January 6.

"He (President Prabowo) wants the discipline of the procedure to be improved," said the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi, quoted by ANTARA.

He said, based on records from the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), there were still about 15 cases that occurred during the implementation of the program in December.

According to Prasetyo, President Prabowo wants similar incidents to be prevented as much as possible in the future.

Regarding the budget, Prasetyo said the MBG program did not face problems because in the 2026 State Budget, funds of around Rp. 335 trillion had been allocated for the program.

In general, from the technical and budgetary aspects, the implementation of the free nutritious meal program is considered not to have major obstacles.

"So technically and financially there is no problem," he said.

Previously, President Prabowo stated the government's commitment to implement a zero defect standard (without defects) and ensure the equitable distribution of beneficiaries of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program starting in 2026.

In a briefing delivered at the Garuda Yaksa Training Center, Hambalang, Bogor Regency, West Java, Tuesday, the Head of State received a report that the MBG program had reached 55 million beneficiaries, as of January 6, 2025.

"We started on January 6, 2025, today is January 6, 2026 and we have reached today, it was reported to me that 55 million beneficiaries," said the Head of State in his briefing.

He said the MBG program is a strategic step to intervene in urgent nutritional problems.

Even though he claimed that the statistical success rate reached 99.99 percent, the President did not turn a blind eye to the existence of deficiencies and irregularities in the field.

He emphasized that in large-scale humanitarian operations, operational challenges are normal, but should not be taken for granted.

"Of course we hope for zero defects. That's what we have to achieve. We are not satisfied with the deficiency of 0.00 percent, we must also overcome it," he said.

The President said that supervision and security measures would continue to be tightened for perfect equality.
