Police Arrest Driver of Fortuner Carrying 400 Liters of Solar at KM 21B Rest Area of Jagorawi Toll Road/ Photo: IST

JAKARTA - Police arrested a man with the initials DP (23) for allegedly illegally using subsidized diesel fuel (BBM) at the KM 21B Jagorawi Toll Rest Area, Bogor, on Sunday, January 4, 2026 WIB. The subsidized solar was stored in a modified Toyota Fortuner vehicle.

"BBM is channeled from the main tank to a large-sized box plate and two barrels placed in the trunk of the car," said Head of the Jagorawi Toll Road Patrol (PJR), Kompol Ahmad Jajuli, in his statement, Monday, January 5, 2026.

Jazuli assessed that the amount of subsidized gasoline carried was estimated at 300 to 400 liters. According to him, the fuel was collected by going around filling at a number of gas stations in the Sukabumi area. At the time of arrest, the perpetrator was driving from Sukabumi to Depok.

"When entering the KM 21B Rest Area, the officer who was on patrol suspected the Fortuner car with the police number B 1259 RKM because it smelled of gasoline," he said.

In addition, officers also found the driver consuming methamphetamine in the car. This was known when the perpetrator's car stopped at a rest area and officers conducted an inspection. So the officers immediately secured the perpetrator along with the evidence.

"The driver was immediately secured after being caught using drugs in the vehicle," he said.

During the initial examination, DP admitted that he only carried out someone's orders in exchange for Rp3 million. He also brought 28 subsidized fuel barcodes and 16 fake vehicle number plates that were allegedly used to deceive gas station officers when filling.

"This case is handled by the Depok Metro Police. Whoever gave the order to the perpetrator must be revealed," he concluded.
