Workers of the PBC Ceiling Shop in Koja Found Dead with a Rope around their Neck

JAKARTA - A worker at the Aretha PVC Ceiling store was found dead with a hanging position and a mine tied to his neck in the Koja area, North Jakarta.

The victim is known as Muhammad Deni (24) a resident of Tambun Utara, Bekasi, West Java.

He committed suicide using a yellow mine rope on the 2nd floor of the employee mess where he worked, Jalan Kramat Jaya, RT002/RW001, Lagoa Village, Koja District, North Jakarta.

A witness to the incident, Damiri, said he was surprised when he saw that the victim was dead in a hanging state.

"The victim's neck was hanging using a yellow mine rope tied to the iron ceiling of the store's roof," Damiri told the police.

Damiri then reported the incident to the local RT Chairman and was forwarded to the Koja Police.

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Koja Police received the report and immediately conducted a crime scene check and examined a number of witnesses.

After identification, the victim's body was then taken to the Polri Hospital using a black cross ambulance.

"When found by witnesses, the victim was dead in a hanging position. No signs of violence were found on the victim's body," said Koja Police Chief, Kompol Andry Suharto when confirmed, Friday, December 2, 2026.

The discovery of the body, said Andry, was first known by a witness with the initials D.

The witness is a colleague of the victim at the store.

"Initially, witness D came to the store where he worked. Then D saw the rolling door was open, so he went inside to check the situation," he said.

When witness D went to the 2nd floor of the employee mess, D saw the victim hanging tied to his neck with a mine rope.

"Use a yellow mine rope tied to the iron ceiling of the store roof," he said.

Currently, the Koja Police Criminal Investigation Unit is still investigating the findings of the man who hanged himself.

"We are still investigating the cause of death of the victim in such a condition," he said.
