Facing the 2026 Nataru Backflow, the PMJ Traffic Police has prepared five action plans for Urai Traffic Jams

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Traffic of the Metro Jaya Police (Ditlantas PMJ) has prepared five action plans to anticipate the congestion of the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) 2026 return.

Head of the Highway Patrol Unit (Kasat PJR) of the PMJ Traffic Police, Kompol Dhanar Dhono Vernandhie, said the first step taken was to deploy personnel at a number of major toll gates that became the point of receiving traffic flow, namely Cililitan Toll Gate, Halim, Cikunir 8, and Cikunir 6.

"First we deployed personnel at the main toll gate that receives traffic flow," said Dhanar in his statement, Monday, December 29, 2025.

The second plan, continued Dhanar, his party coordinated with PT Jasa Marga to optimize the Mobile Reader (MR) service, both in terms of the number of officers and the readiness of equipment, to facilitate transactions at toll gates.

In addition, the PMJ Traffic Police also prepared a traffic engineering scenario in the form of contraflow. The first contraflow will be implemented starting from Kilometer 0 or around the Halim Toll Gate to Kilometer 8 Semanggi.

Not only that, the second contraflow was prepared as a step to withdraw the flow if there was an increase in vehicle volume and traffic density.

"Traffic engineering in the form of contraflow we have prepared to disperse the density," he explained.

The fourth action plan is the implementation of blocking, especially at the Cikunir 8 Toll Gate, by driving away three-axle vehicles so that they do not enter the JORR Toll Road.

As for the last step, the PMJ Traffic Police together with Jasa Marga will continue to carry out socialization to toll road users regarding the use of electronic cards (e-toll), in order to prevent obstacles during transactions at the toll gate.

"Jasa Marga will continue to carry out socialization to toll road users to ensure that the e-toll card is ready to be used, so that there are no obstacles during transactions," concluded Dhanar.
