Narcotics Cases in Karawang West Java Increased 60.9 Percent in 2025

Karawang - Karawang Police, West Java, said that the disclosure of cases of criminal offenses involving drug abuse handled by the Narcotics Investigation Unit this year had increased by 60.9 percent.

Karawang Police Chief AKBP Fiki Novian Ardiansyah conveyed that the number of cases of criminal offenses related to drug abuse handled in 2025 reached 251 cases.

In the previous year (2024), the number of drug cases handled was 156 cases. "So, the cases increased by 95 cases or reached 60.9 percent," he said, quoting Antara.

He said, from the 251 cases of drug abuse handled by the Karawang Police Narcotics Unit this year, there were 309 people arrested. Comprised of 203 dealers and as many as 106 users.

"Those who use it then undergo rehabilitation," he said.

It is stated that in the disclosure of the drug case, the Karawang Police confiscated a number of evidence, namely 3 kilograms of methamphetamine, 4 kilograms of marijuana, 15 ecstasy pills weighing 6.10 grams, and synthetic tobacco or gorila weighing 850.55 grams.

In addition, the police also confiscated 73.20 milliliters of liquid seeds, 9.65 grams of solid seeds, and 44,464 pieces of certain hard drugs.

The Police Chief said that in handling drug cases, the police carried out the investigation process until the transfer of the second stage case to the prosecutor's office (the transfer of suspects and case files).

Apart from law enforcement, the Karawang Police also prioritize prevention efforts through socialization and education to the community about the dangers of drugs, both directly and through social media.
