JAKARTA - Turkish defense company Aser Technology said radio frequency (RF) jammers will be used on armored vehicles deployed in United Nations operations in Africa.

Aser Technology, a manufacturer of satellite and radar communication systems, won a tender for the procurement of RF jammers for UN operations in Africa, beating international competitors and has completed the delivery.

Ertan Murat, general manager of Aser Technology, told Anadolu, the company produces a tactical-grade electronic warfare jammer system that is effective against improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and remotely controlled drones.

Murat said the company is bringing innovative and effective RF jamming technology to the highest international level with this prestigious project.

"We have been serving the Turkish Armed Forces in jammer projects for more than 20 years and we have developed new jammer technology that meets the conditions and needs in the field," he said, quoted by Anadolu on December 20.

"Our products can effectively interfere across the spectrum, including 4.5G and 5G systems, drones, and GNSS (global navigation satellite system) frequency bands, with a much wider range," he added.
