Fireworks Festival Banned in Kuta Bali at New Year's Eve

BADUNG - Fireworks and firecrackers are prohibited in the Kuta Beach area, Badung Regency, Bali, on New Year's Eve 2026.

The Head of the Kuta Custom Village, I Komang Alit Ardana, also the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of Badung Regency, Bali, said that hotels located in residential areas were prohibited from lighting fireworks.

His party only gave permission to one mall in the area of Jalan Kartika Plaza, Kuta, to hold a fireworks party for 5 minutes at 00.00 WITA.

"If the hotels in the settlement are prohibited. We prohibit fireworks. And, for now, not many have applied for permits. Only (one mall) on Jalan Kartika Plaza has applied for a permit for that," said Alit Ardana, in Kuta, Bali, Tuesday, December 23.

"And honestly, we must also be concerned with the existence of our nation, with the current situation. I minimize it for celebrations that are playing hura-hura. We only allow it to be detonated at 00.00 WITA," he added.

He also emphasized that in the Kuta Beach area it was also prohibited to light fireworks or firecrackers during the New Year's Eve. In addition, traders who sell fireworks and firecrackers are also not allowed in the Kuta area.

"At Kuta Beach there is none. Only the hotel (mall) applied for a permit. And we suggest only being blown up at 00:00. Under the clock, I do not allow it. For (mall)

"I blew it for 5 minutes and I limited it," he explained.
